Steelcut returns to Lingfield tomorrow in the quest for points in the Blue Square series. Trainer David Evans won the series last year with Norville and has already made a good start in 2012, with Captain Dimitrios getting 18 points in the bag very early and it would be no surprise if he went close to landing the final next month. Many would argue the Surrey venue is not Steelcut's preferred track but it is worth one more shot given the prize money being put up by the sponsors. Jim Crowley who is 2 from 2 in our colours to date will take the ride. A great start to the New Year for Shropshire Wolves members when William Haigh took the feature handicap over a mile after a great tussle from the furlong pole with Reve De Nuit, the pair drawing clear. Weather turned nasty in the build up to the race and afterwards members were certainly grateful for the hospitality laid on by member Richard Bellamy from his company Dining Chairs Uk. Spirits were not dampened despite the downpour and Richard returned to a hero's welcome in the marquee. The horse looked an absolute picture in the paddock and in completing a four timer in less than 6 weeks is a credit to trainer Alan Swinbank and the team at Melsonby.
