Rotten weather - 17 November, 2010

Rotten weather threatens to scupper the chances for Sumner when he makes his chase debut at Hereford tomorrow. Rain has fallen all day long and the forecast good ground has long gone. The ground will be safe and the track is only 16 miles from base, we will almost certainly run anyway unless it goes heavy but will not be ideal.

Jockeys title going to the wire - 04 November, 2010

The battle for the jockeys title between Hughes and Hanagan is holding racegoers interest in what would otherwise be a routine end to the season. Shropshire Wolves have been mildy affected by the clamber for rides as Richard Hughes was originally booked on Sumner before jumping on to Dubburg, only to defect from the Musson camp and end up on Larkrise Star. The tale continued when Hughes was unable to get to Kempton yesterday leaving his agent trying to chase other jockeys rides at Wolverhampton on Friday.

Sumner does seem to be coming to his self and gaining a little confidence and it is hoped he can build on this at Kempton tonight before going back over hurdles in the next few days.

Everyone knows what Johnny can do and he finds himself in a small field race at Wolverhampton tomorrow afternoon and this may well suit him if he gets away in good style but if Style and Panache handles the track she will be a danger to all.
